Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI), often called baby foam, is a specialty anionic surfactant made from all vegetable, renewable resources, primarily coconut. It is used to impart extra mildness, good after feel, and good foaming in many personal care and cleansing products. SCI is an excellent foamer in hard or soft water. Naturally derived and biodegradable.

A major reason sodium cocoyl isethionate is an ideal ingredient for skincare products is because it is extremely mild. It is gentle enough for even super sensitive newborn skin! Though it is extremely gentle, it is still an effective cleanser, low-odor, and a pure natural surfactant with active levels reaching 84%. It effectively interacts with oil, dirt, and water to cleanse the skin.
