DESCRIPTION:

LA-G80 powder is a probiotic additive, containing the Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-G80 and a special cryoprotectant agent. The Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-G80 is gram-positive, rod shaped, and often found in the small intestine. It produces lactic acid, acetic acid and antibiotics which protect against harmful bacteria.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is a homofermentative, microaerophilic species, fermenting sugars into lactic acid, and grows readily at rather low pH values (below pH 5.0) and has an optimum growth temperature of around 37ºC. It occurs naturally in the human and animal gastrointestinal tract and mouth, urinary tract, and can also be found in various fermented foods.

It has a super strong ability to survive in gastro-acid (low pH), bile salt, and enzyme digestion pressure conditions for colonizing in human epithelial cell lines and intestinal mucus. It produces natural anti-microbials like acidolin, acidophilin, and aetocidon to inhibit other bacteria. Its metabolism can digest monosaccharides and creates lactase to convert lactose into simple sugar.
